More about Cyd Klein

Having lived and worked in Algoma, Wisconsin, for more than decade, I consider myself to be a ‘transplanted native’ to this city on the lake. Although I originally hail from Green, Bay, Wisconsin, the home of the Green Bay Packers; I consider myself really ‘home’ when I am in Algoma.

Algoma’s first settlement, established in 1851 by Irish and English pioneers was called Wolf River. This was a loose translation from the Indian An-Ne-Pe which meant "land of the great gray wolf". Algoma's current population is about 3400 and rises during the Summer Tourist season due to the avid sports fishing industry on the shores of Lake Michigan.

I have a grown daughter living in southern Wisconsin. She enjoys sewing too. I have been an ardent sewing enthusiast my whole life; first learning at an early age from Grandma Loretta.

I enjoy meeting new people, traveling, and getting involved in my community, having in the recent past been involved in designing costumes for the Green Bay Community Winter Parade. I have also enjoyed acting as a guest judge in a children’s creative presentation competition for the local county fair. I believe it is important for us all to look for ways to give a little back where ever we can.

I look forward to meeting all of you in our virtual community and will do my best to make a valued contribution.
