sock-monkey-instructions
I've been sewing these toys a long time. first for my kids and now for my grandkids. They are easy to make and I have posted the guide, photos, and free templates so you can make your own.
You need:
1 Pair of Red-Heeled Socks
Polyester fiber stuffing
Red Knitting yarn
Scotch tape / Straight pins

Turn one sock inside out and starting at the cuff sew a seam down the center to within 3 inches of white heel. Pivot and sew back again. Try to acheive the curved ends at the cuff as illustrated. Cut between the 2 stitching lines leaving an opening in the crotch area for turning

Turn it right side out and stuff with Fiber-fill. Tie a ribbon around the upper torso to make a distinction between the head and body

Place the pattern pieces on the remaining sock and tape or pin in place. Cut out. The Arms, Tail, and Ears should be seamed and stuffed, and then sewn in place. Turning the ends slighty under on the mouth, partially sew in place, stuff and close remaining opening. If you would like a full size copy of the pattern pieces, you can get it here:
